Something that’s ingrained in us from a young age is the prevailing notion that we have the power, the capacity and the right to ‘say no’ at any point. No to inappropriate behaviour, no to unwarranted comments, no to unwanted sexual advances and HELL-NO to the proliferation of rape culture.

Project Consent, a non-profit volunteer-based campaign, is working to combat and deconstruct the unfortunate reality of rape culture; a phenomenon that sees sexual assault trivialised or belittled on a global scale.
The campaign raises awareness of the harmful way with which rape is regarded by society, educate audiences about the disparity of discussion surrounding sexual assault and promote positive dialogue about the importance of consent.
Project Consent advocates for a future in which sexual abuse is not trivialised by archaic social norms and behaviours of the past. The projects simple mantra “Consent is Simple – if its not yes, its no” speaks to everyone. The endearing characters in their videos bluntly convey the ‘ins and outs’ (pun intended) of what does and does not qualify as consent.
The movement’s powerful message speaks to people of all ages, cultures and languages – with each the simplicity and inclusivity of the campaign effectively bringing this deep-seated issue into the public consciousness.
