We are incredibly proud to announce our collaboration with Share The Dignity in raising awareness for 1800RESPECT, the National Sexual Assault Domestic Family Violence Counselling service. 1800RESPECT is a confidential online and telephone counselling, information and referral service that operates 24 hours a day.

We think its so important for all women to be aware of what support is out there if they, or someone they know, is experiencing domestic violence, both in their current situation, or in a past relationship.

From 14th of March, every pack of our tampons produced will have the 1800RESPECT number printed on the inside of the lid. This acts as a discreet reminder for any woman in a violent relationship, still experiencing the emotional effects of an abusive relationship, or who may one day find themselves in one, that there is support available.

Feminine hygiene products provide the perfect environment to enable such a discreet but powerful form of communication- one that can ultimately save lives.

With support from the 2015 Australian of the year, Rosie Batty, as well as Our Watch, who seek to end violence against women and children, the Cottons and Share The Dignity campaign would not be possible without Rochelle Courtenay’s vision.

When we were approached by Rochelle to get involved there was absolutely no way we could refuse. Cottons truly cares about women, and we strongly believe that every woman has the right to feel safe and supported. In our partnership with Share The Dignity, we hope that our new packs will raise significant awareness of 1800RESPECT for the women who need it the most.

How can you help make a difference?

Help us spread the word. Domestic violence is now referred to as the biggest public health crisis in Australia and its still a mostly hidden crime. 2016 needs to be the year this changes.

Buy a pack NOW for Share The Dignity’s April collection drive, where our packs will go out to vulnerable women in need.

Know the number, share the number, change the number.
